Stuffed Shells

Saute in skillet:
2 lbs. hamburger
1 ½ lbs. sausage
1 cup chopped onions

Put in a crock-pot.

Add:
1 lg. can diced tomatoes
2 cans tomato paste
2 tbsp. parsley
½ tsp. basil
½ tsp. oregano
1 tsp fennel (optional. I didn’t use it)
1 or 2 cloves garlic, chopped
3 tbsp. sugar (I didn’t add this either)

Cook in crock-pot all day. Cook one box jumbo shells.

Mix together:
2 tbsp. parsley
3 tbsp. sugar (I didn’t add this)
2 eggs
2 lbs. cottage cheese
1 ½ lbs. shredded mozzarella cheese
½ cup shredded parmasan cheese

Put mixture into cooled shells. Then pour meat sauce over top. Bake at 300 degrees for 1-2 hours.

I got this recipe from my sister-in-law Stephanie. It...is...divine!!!  I seriously could drink the sauce! I love making this sauce and using it on spaghetti, or lasagna. I have frozen the sauce and it worked well. I would totally can it if I knew how!!!
